LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL: POST MATCH ANALYSIS

There were no surprises at Anfield yesterday. Liverpool crushed Arsenal 5-1 in which the hosts dominated in every aspect of the game. As the scoreline suggests, it was a one-sided game. Firmino scored a hattrick while Mane and Salah also joined the score chart. Niles got one back for the Gunners. Liverpool are looking for the title with a 9 point lead as Tottenham once again bottled their chances against Wolves. Arsenal stays on the fifth position behind Chelsea.

This match proved how important it is to have money in modern football. When you have one of the best coaches in the world with a financially balanced management, you can build up the best team as you like. It's the basic philosophy behind the Red's success so far. Klopp sought out the problems in the team, especially in defence and goalkeeping. He roped in Allison and van Dijk with club record transfer fee and the match results reflects it.

Arsenal had many setbacks even before the game starts. Injuries and lack of bench strength affected Emery. Emery was forced to play Mustafi who just joined with the team after an injury to play alongside with Sokratis. It was a match between the old Arsenal defence vs young Liverpool front. We can't even imagine 34-year-old Lichsteiner against Sadio Mane and there was no other option for Emery. At least two of the goals scored by the Reds are due to the mistakes by the veteran right back.

In opposite to the flow of play, Arsenal scored the first goal as Niles tapped in a spectacular cross from Iwobi. And the interesting thing to notice was Emery didn't celebrate much after the goal. Maybe he knew what was coming.

Firmino punished the Gunners in next to no time twice which revealed the pathetic condition of Arsenal's defence. Even Torreira missed his pass that leads to the second goal. Mane scored the third one thanks to an audacious chip from Mo Salah. Salah himself then converted a penalty kick in the final moments of the first half.

It was too early for Mustafi to be back on the field after his injury. Emery replaced him in the second half with Koscielny. KolaĊĦinac made a careless foul on Lovren inside the box. Referee Michael Oliver had no other option but to point to the spot. Salah gave the penalty to Firmino to complete his hattrick and it finished the Gunners.

According to Daily Mail, Klopp nearly cried when Salah gave the ball to Firmino for his third goal.

"It worked and it’s one of the nicest things I ever saw in my life. Really, I don’t know a lot of players who would do that. When I saw him then celebrating with Bobby it was just wow, just outstanding. So far, the gesture of the season. Really, really nice."

Liverpool once again proved that this year is for them. They have a clear nine-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Tottenham who lost their game against Wolves. Klopp and his boys are on fire! Anfield surely is waiting for the Premier League title.

Another thing; Bayern Munich be afraid, be very afraid. Reds are coming to hunt you in February. #YNWA #COYG
